Web
hosting provider and Internet Service Provider (ISP) Zen Internet (http://www.zenwebhosting.com),
who won the Best Business ISP award in February 2006, has
announced it is offering new customers a trial of its Linux web hosting
packages for only 1 British Pence. The UK-based company will maintain
this promotion until 16th May 2006 and it applies to its full range

This
promotion provides the ideal opportunity for us to demonstrate the confidence
we have in our product set. Our shared Linux packages provide complete
value for money and are affordable to both businesses and home users
alike. In a marketplace where barriers to entry are low, even for the
more established providers it is important to constantly exceed customer
expectations and provide continued value for money, explained
James Steel, Hosting Product Manager.
Zen
Internet launched its shared Linux range back in November 2005 and each
plan features the cPanel control panel. Other features include email
solution with anti-virus protection, a web site statistics package,
site design wizards, FTP and database management.
Chicago, Illinois - (The Hosting News) - April 7, 2006
- Web hosting company, Hostway, advises general domain registration
in order to protect brand identity rather than risk losing domain names
to other companies or cybersquatters.
Hostway
releases this advisory after the land rush for the new .eu domain name
on April 7, 2006 at 11am in London. Neil Barton, Director of Hostway
explained, ''The .eu land rush has now begun, and registration for the
.eu domain name is now open to all individuals and companies, regardless
of whether or not they have a valid claim to it. Its crucial that
companies realise just how important it is to register for their .eu
domain name if they wish to take advantage of this opportunity now or
in the future.'
Mr.
Barton continued, ''As the largest top-level domain name release for
several years, companies are faced with both an opportunity and a challenge
- anyone who hasnt yet registered shouldnt waste any more
time - acquiring a .eu address is as easy as picking up the phone. The
cost is minimal especially when you compare it to the cost of not registering.
Companies who dont register for their domain name are effectively
gambling with their brand identity, and they could be risking expensive
and unnecessary cybersquatting cases.''
A
recent survey from Hostway found that the new .eu domain name is set
to be as big as .com. According to the survey, nearly two thirds of
businesses (64%) feel that the new domain name will be important to
their business operations in Europe. The .eu domain name is available
to all of the twenty five nations, and the 450 million people that make
up the European community.
Mr.
Barton concluded, ''People do need to beware of unofficial vendors offering
registrations as they could miss out, or be ripped off. This is a great
opportunity for people to establish their presence as a pan-European
entity, but as with any transaction online, people need to make sure
that the supplier on the other end is authentic.''
Hostway
Corporation provides web hosting services with eight locations in the
US, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Korea, and Australia with
managed hosting services such simple shared plans, to complete dedicated
server and VPS solutions to now over 350,000 customers worldwide.

Web
Hosting Company, Q151.com, Offers Free Web Hosting
Bucharest, Romania - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - April 3, 2006 -
A
new, free, web hosting service is now available to Q151.com users.According
to the company, with no limits on disk space or bandwidth, Q151.com
says it already has 200 new users and uniquely company places no ads
on user Websites.In
a statement published at the services release, the company said:
''We are not currently placing ads on user sites, and we really hope
we won't have to. However, if our bandwidth and storage costs grow,
and we cannot compensate for these costs with advertising on our homepage,
we will start placing ads on user pages. However, these will be animated
GIF banners (468x60) on the top and bottom of the pages only. And likely,
these would only be placed on the bottom of each page. But again, this
is only if our costs skyrocket at some point in the future. As of right
now, we are not planning to place ads on user sites. We absolutely refuse
to place pop-up ads, Flash ads, and the like - we do not want to become
like Tripod or GeoCities, where there are more ads than anything else.''
Q151.com
is developing version 2 of its service, which will include additional
advanced features, such as a website builder, email accounts, MySQL
databases, and more.
