Web Hosting Provider ‘The Planet’ Chooses Check Point

June 29, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Web hosting provider ‘The Planet’ (http://www.theplanet.com) has chosen Check Point VPN-1 UTM Edge to boost security. According to the company the system was chosen for its ‘integrated security, comprehensive features, security management portal and unified management architecture tips.’

“While other vendors offer virtual firewalls and limited features in their products, most of our customers prefer a dedicated appliance with a comprehensive set of integrated security features and as a result, VPN-1 UTM Edge was an easy choice,” suggested The Planet’s Director of Information Security in a Yahoo press release. “The determining factor in replacing our existing selection of firewalls was Check Point’s unified security architecture and Security Management Portal(TM) that allows us to easily report, update and change policies for all of our hosted customers without service interruption or network downtime…”

Check Point VPN-1 UTM Edge provides a total security solution offering an inspection firewall, intrusion prevention, gateway antivirus and IPSEC VPN. The system’s remote management console “provides a strong, resilient architecture, supporting tens of thousands of gateway appliances”.
